healthy?

My friend Rucha and I attended a “Vegetarian Focus Group” hosted by University Housing and Food Services.  We got to eat a vegetarian meal for free and then discuss how well the campus cafeterias cater to those of us who don’t eat meat.  Much of the conversation ended up centering on the need for more healthy choices - just because grilled cheese isn’t meaty doesn’t mean that it’s something I want to eat.

At the end of the night while we were making final suggestions, Rucha and I mentioned how the dining hall didn’t have very many choices for breakfast cereals.  The woman from housing asked exactly what kind we wanted.   After listening to the tone of the conversation from the entire night, I think she expected us to request more Special K, Kashi, or Smart Start.  Rucha and I looked at each other, giggled, and both said, “the really sugary stuff.”

I write this as I’m eyeing up the box of Fruity Pebbles on my desk.
