I think my favorite part of Easter this year was getting to tell all my relatives what I did over spring break. When our family showed up at my aunt’s house, every person immediately spotted my sister’s tan, so she got to to tell about her week-long adventure in Cancun. When every relative then turned to me and asked about my vacation, it was awesome to follow my sister’s stories with, “I worked the parish Fish Fry and saw National Treasure with six of my little cousins. I went to a Robotics tournament and reread the Chronicles of Narnia. Oh yeah, and I updated my iTunes.” They would always then give a kind of uninterested “oh” and turn back to my sister, lighting up again and asking, “Can you tell that story about the club and the tequila and the VIP room again? Aunty Judy didn’t hear it yet.” It was even better having to repeat that moment with at least nine, possibly fourteen, and probably even more of my relatives. Before the Easter celebrations, I felt like I had a lot of fun over break. Thank you, extended family, for making me feel lame.
