camp name

As many of you already know, I work as a counselor at a Girl Scout camp in the summer. During the months of June through August, I become known only as “Jupiter,” my camp name. Campers go on a bit of a power trip if they find out your “real” name, so I take a lot of preventative action to avoid accidental slips. Consequently, an embarrassingly large amount of my possessions are now labeled boldly in Sharpie with “Jupiter.”

Prior to becoming a counselor, I was sort of (very) obsessive about keeping track of my markers (doesn’t it drive you crazy when your markers get stolen or you don’t know how old they are?!). Every single marker in this crayon box is marked with “Mara 2006.” All summer I somehow managed to convince suspicious girls that they say “Mar 9 2006.”
